Entry #9 Mental Health Part 2
In a previous blog post I talked about mental health. I've decided to bring this topic back up again because I received a request, but with a twist! In this blog post the coping skills will be more focused towards men.
What are copping skills? Coping skills are tasks to calm or distract the mind. Just like females, men experience anxiety, stress, and frustration. Everyone (No matter the gender) needs to have a couple escape routes or coping skills to help them calm down.
The first coping skill is running, this is a very common coping skill because you can basically do it anywhere! Running is a great coping skill because your mind is focused on your legs, rather then the stressors of life. Running is also very good for you, its known to improve memory, decrease illnesses, and improve sleep. According to A recent study out of 51 people, the ones who added running to there schedule slept better through the night.
The second coping skill is listening to music. Music is actually proven to decrease depression! when listening to your favorite playlist your brain releases dopamine, dopamine is a chemical that is released during pleasurable moments. When you listen to music you counteract the effects of stress, anxiety and many more issues. Music also is scientifically proven to increase memory and learning according to Psychologists.

Lastly, vacations are always amazing at taking stress away. For example, a good ol’ Fishing trip will surely help you forget about work. Although vacations aren’t always accessible immediately, they are nice to save up for and look forward to. The benefit of a vacation is getting away from your everyday schedule and relaxing.
I hope everyone enjoyed my blog. I’m open to more requests and suggestions to make them more interesting and enjoyable to read, leave your comments below!

Well-organized and to the point. Nice to see you are taking your feedback into consideration; though as you note, these coping mechanisms aren't limited to just just males or females.
